Review: The Plan by Qwen Salsbury

Review: The Plan by Qwen Salsbury

Synopsis:

Day of Employment: 359
11:05 a.m
Location: Cubicles outside Canon's office.
Co-workers: Betting on how long Canon's new PA will last.
Me: No doubts. Ms. Gum-smacker won't last the day. I need to place my bet.
Manolo Blahnik's New Fall Shoes: Mine. As soon as Madeline hands over my winnings.

Emma Baker has never spoken a word to Alaric Canon, nor has he to her. But she's studied him every day across the office tundra for almost a year. Canon is hard and fierce, terrifying and beautiful. He's also the most stern, unforgiving person Emma has ever seen. Emma's co-workers run abetting pool for Personal Assistant terminations. There's a

separate pot for the day one leaves without crying. Not likely... Canon made a former Navy SEAL cry.

He has high standards and low tolerance. Everyone knows it. Everyone stays away. Everyone who can, that is. Except Emma. She can't look away. Alaric Canon is the single most attractive man she's ever seen.

Canon has never noticed her. Not once in almost a year. She's not even a blip on his radar. But she will be. His radar will be blipless no more.
It is a goal. Emma has a plan.

Review (Roxana's Thoughts):

Yes Sir! I'm still riding the Qwen Salsbury wave...

How can I start this review... hmm, let me think... oh, how about I start gushing on and on about the her's name- Alaric Canon...isn't he special, but you don't know that yet... eh, let me tell how special he really is... he's controlling (like pants down controlling), he's loyal (even if the others don't know that about him... yet), he's demanding ( like making a former Navy SEAL  cry), he's... perfect...

In the start of the book, we have Emma and her collegues-they have a betting pool and make. money from the bets they place on how long the new PA will last. Will you refuse this opportunity to make some money and so you can sustain your little hobby -like boying shoes?
Well, I would boy books from the bucks, but Emma loves her shoes, but do you know what she loves more than that?
I tell you what, or maybe I should say who... it's Alaric.

Emma is law student and she's working while preparing her exams and on her first day working there she's crushing hard on Alaric, another lawyer who works there, but he's a control freak and he's not so shy that he can't let the others see his disdain for incompetence, but that's where the real funny moments begins...

Alaric, even through he's complicated and doesn't seem to notice Emma, he's her dirty little secret because she's crushing hard on him when all the others are terrified of him and they're laughing behind his back on how long his new PA will last. I'll admit that I find this part of the story very amusing and deliciosly relaxing. So from the start of the story we have a betting going on about a cute but stupid PA and even though Emma should stay away from PA's problem, she's trying to help her, but that girl doesn't even let her because she's thinking that she's the God's Gift to men's kind and, obviously, she's fired.

So, it begins Emma's chance to be a blip on Alaric's radar and she isn't afraid to put him in his place... but it's a long journey, one that implies to travel together for a signing of a important contract and the appearence of old 'friends', but Emma is stuborn and she doesn't give so easily on Alaric, even though he's trying to stay as far away from her....

One of the original aspects is how the story is written- because we know all the inconsecvential but also the most important details of the story- the story being related on how every hour or day has been going on, without making a scene very descriptive... just simple, like in the synopsis.

Characters:

Emma-she's stuborn, smart and she knows everything is possible if she really want it-she's also the story teller. She had a normal life until Alaric, from that moment all she can think about is him, but she knows that he isn't going to ask her to marry him or at least to ask her out and so it begins the Plan...

Alaric-he's a troubled soul, with more secrets, even though Emma has been studying his every move this past year- so, I'm not going to say more about him and I will leave him reveal himself in front of you when you'll be reading this story...

Final Verdict- a beautiful story about love developing between two employees of a company, a story that has drama, fighting, passion, tears, but more than anything else has many funny moments and you'll be laughing so hard that you'll seriously think you'll pee yourself.

Rating: 5/5

So... what do you say? Will you be reading this beautiful story?
